Bei Bluesmessen treffen sich Regimekritiker in Ost-Berlin. Unter ihnen der damals 18-jährige Uhrmacherlehrling Dirk Moldt. Im Schutz der Kirche fühlen sich die Jugendlichen vor den Repressionen des Staates geschützt.

Pfarrer Rainer Eppelmann und Regimekritiker Robert Havemann veröffentlichen ihren „Berliner Appell". Sie fordern das Recht auf freie Meinungsäußerung und Abrüstung.
